What is a SKU level commission?
SKU level commissions allow you to set up special commission rates based on different products.
If you have a product that has a lower margin, you may want to offer a lower commission rate should the referred customer buy that product. On the other hand, you may want to incentivize affiliates to refer products with a higher margin by offering a higher commission rate.
We check every order to see if any products with a SKU level commission were purchased. If so, we apply that special commission rate. Other products on the order are not affected, the offer's default commission is applied to the other items.
Please note: You cannot set different commissions for the same affiliate. This article walks you through how to set up different commissions for varying products.
Setting up SKU level commissions
SKU level commissions are setup on an offer level, so each offer can have a different set of SKUs. To set them up, navigate to Manage > Offers and click on an existing offer ID. If you are creating a new offer, create and save the offer and then go back to edit it.
Next, click on Product Level Commissions:
Then click on Add SKU:
And input the SKU commission details. Product description is optional, but it is highly recommended that you fill that in to demonstrate which items the product level commissions apply to. When you're ready, click Create.
NOTE: In order for SKU commissions to work, be sure products have SKUs associated to them in your shop.
