For brands on Shopify, Refersion can import products from your store so you can promote your products to your affiliates on their dashboard. This article walks through how this feature works for you and for your affiliates.
Promoting a product has different outcomes depending on whether you have opted into the Refersion Marketplace or not.
For programs that have not opted into the Refersion Marketplace: The products you promote are only made visible to affiliates who you've accepted into your program on the "My Products & Referral Links" page of their dashboard. The products will not show up in the Refersion Marketplace.
For programs that have opted into the Refersion Marketplace: Promoting a product can mean two things:
The products you promote are made visible to affiliates who you've accepted into your program on the "My Products & Referral Links" page of their dashboard.
Your promoted products also show up in the Refersion Marketplace under "Find Products" so affiliates there can see those products and discover your brand. (more info). Affiliates who discover your brand based on a promoted product are still required to fill out your registration form and be accepted by you.
With either option, having a list of products visible in your affiliate's dashboards makes it easy for your affiliates to copy direct product links into their content when promoting your brand.
How do I get my products imported into my Refersion account?
For Shopify stores who signed up for Refersion prior to June 30, 2022, you'll need to enable the Product Feed feature in your Refersion account in order to have your products imported.
Note: The Product Feed feature allows your Marketplace affiliates to access your store's products via GraphQL. While this is helpful for larger publishers and who require programmatic access to product feed data, please continue reading so that you can also promote your products on the Refersion Marketplace and on your affiliates' dashboards, which can be accessed without requiring GraphQL knowledge!
Once products are imported, you can manage all of your products from the Manage>Products page.
Note: If you don't see a "products" page under the manage section of your account, reach out to [email protected] to have the products page enabled on your account.
How do I promote products?
You can promote a product by hovering over the product row and clicking the green “Promote” button next to the product name.
You can also use the checkbox at the top of the table to promote multiple products in bulk.
How do I ensure affiliates can see the products I've promoted?
You’ll need to manually enable the “My Products” page by going to the + Advanced Settings section of your offers in Refersion.
Toward the bottom of the advanced settings, you’ll see a setting called “Show products to affiliates? Change this to “Yes” and save.
Once saved, affiliates will see a new “My Products & Referral Links” page in their dashboard.
Will I need to enable the products page for every offer?
If you want all affiliates to have a "Products" page in their dashboard, yes. Otherwise, you can choose specific offers to enable the products page on.
