For your Shopify store’s orders that are referred by affiliates, you can tag the orders with additional information from Refersion.

Once your affiliates are driving sales for you, you’ll have data that you can report on! Check out our help guide on how to use reports in Refersion to get an idea of how to start setting big picture goals for your affiliate program.

You might also want the option to filter in your Shopify store and see which orders came from Refersion. That’s something that we can help setup for you! In order to do this, you’ll need to use our Shopify Order Tags feature.

Important Note: At this time, our order tag feature only supports accounts that have one Shopify store connected. If you have multiple Shopify stores connected to a single Refersion account, then our order tag feature will only work in one of those stores.

Shopify Order Tags

How the feature works once enabled is that if an order in your Shopify store has a referring affiliate, then Refersion will tag the order with additional information. The order tags will look like this:

Below is the full list of tags that we would include on each order when available:

  • rfsn.aff.id

  • rfsn.aff.first_name

  • rfsn.aff.last_name

  • rfsn.aff.commission

  • rfsn.aff.currency

  • rfsn.aff.coupon_code

  • rfsn.aff.offer

Setting It Up

If you’re interested in utilizing our Shopify Order Tags feature, then please note that you’ll need assistance from the Refersion team to get setup. We’ll provide you with a link that you’ll use to reinstall our app in your Shopify store with expanded permissions. Specifically we’ll need access to edit your store's orders, which our app does not ask for by default on initial install.

Send us a message at [email protected] if you’d like to discuss next steps!
