Branded Links are personalized affiliate links that live on your own store domain, such as yourstore.com/janedoe12. Affiliates get a short, memorable link to share, making it easier to promote across platforms.
Branded Links also work with discount links, so shoppers can get an automatic discount without entering a code.
Please note: Branded Links are available for Shopify stores only, and currently only on newer billing plans. If you don’t see this feature in your account, please contact our team.
How Branded Links Work
When Branded Links are turned on, Refersion generates a personalized link for every active affiliate and adds it to your Shopify store’s URL redirects. Each one redirects shoppers to a longer link that includes the affiliate’s tracking parameter. When used with discount links, it also provides a discount to the customer.
Link types
Main Link: Created automatically for every active affiliate. You can’t delete this link or change its destination since it’s the main one, but you can change its path.
Redirect Link: Additional personalized links you can add for an affiliate that points to any product, collection, or page. You can edit its path and destination, or delete it, at any time.
Please note: Shopify allows up to 100,000 URL redirects per store (20,000,000 on Shopify Plus). Every Branded Link counts toward that limit, and each active affiliate has at least one. If you have a large program or use many Redirect Links, keep an eye on your total.
Enable Branded Links
Go to Account > Settings > Links.
Switch the toggle on for: Enable Branded Links.
A Main Link is created automatically for every active affiliate, using their company or name plus two random numbers to prevent naming collisions. Affiliates you approve later receive theirs upon activation.

Manage Links for an Affiliate
Open an affiliate from Affiliates > Affiliates and go to their Links tab to copy, add, edit, or delete links.
Add additional Redirect Links
On the affiliate's Links tab, click Add Branded Link.
Paste the product, collection, or page you want the link to send shoppers to.
Save the link.
Edit a link
You can change a Redirect Link's path or destination at any time from the affiliate's Links tab. For the Main Link, you can edit the path, but not the destination, which is always your homepage.
A couple of important notes to keep in mind:
The path you specify cannot already be a real page in your store. For example, you cannot have an affiliate's personal link path be yourbrand.com/products. You can, however, have a personal link such as /john-doe redirect to /products instead.
Changing a link’s path replaces the previous personalized URL path. The old URL stops working and isn’t forwarded to the new one, so tell the affiliate before you change a link they’ve already shared.
Delete a Redirect Link
You can delete any Redirect Link from the Links tab, but not the Main Link. When you delete one, choose what happens to shoppers who click it later:
Delete and redirect home: Sends the shopper to your homepage.
Delete and 404: The link stops working and shows a not found page.
What Affiliates See
In the affiliate dashboard, Your Link is the Main Link, followed by each additional Redirect Link.
The Refersion Marketplace shows the same links within each offer.
Affiliates can copy and share their links right away.
